Newcomer Board Interest Form
In April, a new Board and
Executive Board of Directors will begin leading our club. These are the ladies who
coordinate and oversee all the activities and business of the Marco Island
Newcomers, including: making sure there is a luncheon and program each month;
coordinating all special activities, and special interests groups; handling financial
and administrative duties, (just to name a few). Please consider serving as a
board member/committee chair or co-chair. Serving on the Board is a great way
to get to know people. Minimal Computer skills are needed for each job, with a
few jobs needing more computer skills (see below). Outgoing Board members will
provide training on each specific job.
Advertising: Seek new advertisers and maintain current
advertisers for the club’s Newsletter.
Sponsorships:
Solicit local businesses
for our gift/give-a-way program at the monthly luncheon.
Historian/Publicity:
Take pictures during the
luncheon and special events. Secure coverage from three local papers for club
exposure. Write and submit notices of luncheons and special events to the three
local papers. Computer knowledge
necessary
Social
Media/Web: Oversee and
maintain the blogs and the website.
Computer skills required
Hostess:
Along with member
volunteers, greet perspective members and guests, give them a tour of the
luncheon facility/process, and assist in seating them.
Luncheon:
Coordinate luncheon
reservations from members and guests, as well check in members and guests at
the luncheon. Computer skills required
Centerpieces:
Select and order the
floral arrangements or other centerpieces for each table as well order the
birthday corsages for each luncheon.
Seating:
Coordinates and assigns
membership seating at each luncheon.

Membership:
Process perspective
members’ applications, provide assistance as needed. Maintain and publish annual membership roster (and
addendum), and all membership information. Computer
skills required
Programs:
Plan and introduce
monthly programs. Sit at the President’s table to make presenters feel welcome.
Special
Events: Plan and arrange
special events for the membership during the year, such as Welcome Back
Luncheon, plays etc. Computer skills
required
Special
Interest: Assign members
to our mini clubs, as well maintain list of Chairs. Computer skills required
Mentoring:
Develops and maintain a
group of members who help mentor our newest members.
Parade:
This position is an
opportunity to let your creative side shine by coordinating the theme,
participants & costumes for the December Holiday Parade
Holiday
Ball: Plan the Ball,
which includes invitations, location, entertainment, seating & decorations.
